Cool Black and Red Night Riding Glasses

Need an awesome pair of night riding glasses?  There are a lot of options out there, but you do want to be careful that you get glasses that will actually help you see at night.  Some glasses that are labeled as night righting actually don’t do that much for you.  You want to look for ones that have special tinted lenses designed to capture every bit of light and magnify it.  In addition to helping you ride in the early morning and late evening light, these Black/Red Extreme Night Riding Glasses are also very helpful in the rain and on cloudy days.

These riding glasses were designed by EyeQ USA, a company that designs glasses exclusively for motorcycle riders.  They take into account all types of weather and light a biker may be exposed to, and they do their best to make their glasses great all-around protection for your eyes.  They protect against UV light, too, and can be worn on the brightest, sunniest day.  That way, you don’t have to deal with switching sunglasses and keeping up with two pairs.

Another great feature of these riding glasses is that the lenses are made out of high quality shatterproof material.  The plastic frames are also very durable, so even if you have a crash and they hit the pavement, they’re not going to break.  These glasses hug your face, staying in place even in high winds or on bumpy roads.

These riding glasses have proven to be incredibly popular over the years.  In fact, they were even named the best-selling riding glasses from the Sturgis bike week in 2010.  They’re sleek, stylish, and highly functional.  If you do a lot of riding in low-light situations, these night riding glasses are a must.

Buying Holiday Gifts for Bikers

The holiday season is rapidly approaching.  In fact, some people have already started their shopping, and a few on-the-ball individuals may even have all their gifts already purchased!  Do you need an idea for your biker friends?  They’re actually very easy to buy for, if you have a little knowledge of biker accessories and items.  Here are some great ideas for your biker friends and family members.  Remember that there’s no need to panic yet—you’ve got plenty of time to do some shopping before the holidays are here.

One of the easiest gifts to give anyone is a t-shirt.  You don’t even necessarily have to have the person’s size—you can often eyeball it, and if you save the receipt, they can exchange it if they need to.  However, you can usually guess the right size.  There are hundreds of different types of biker t-shirts.  Some of them feature specific brands, so be sure you know what type of bike your friend drives before you go shopping.  There are t-shirts with bikes, logos, sayings, and even rally t-shirts.

When a biker needs some new gear, they usually go right out and buy it.  Helmets, gloves, a new jacket…if they need something, they get it because it may be unsafe to ride with worn or damaged gear.  However, you can purchase accessories for them, things that they may not necessarily have to have to ride.  Jewelry, for example, is the perfect accessory that a biker may not buy for themselves.  There are a lot of different types of jewelry a biker might wear, including necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings.

Biker patches are also a great gift.  Even if they already have patches on their jacket, there’s a lot you can do with biker patches.  They can be used for decoration, put on other items, or even collected and traded with others.

It’s All About the Miles, as this Patch Reminds Us

Riding a motorcycle isn’t about the biker image.  Isn’t not always even about the type of bike you own.  What it is often about is how many miles you ride and put in.  You can have the most expensive and amazing bike, but if you’ don’t actually ride it, you’re not really much of a biker, are you?  As this All About the Miles Patch reminds us, what truly makes a biker a biker is the number of miles you’ve put in.  If you haven’t done that much riding, you’re just a guy who spent money on a fancy bike.

Even though it says “It’s all about putting the miles in,” this patch isn’t saying that you’re more of a biker if you’ve got more miles on your bike.  But it is saying that buying a bike isn’t all you have to do to be a biker.  You need to ride that bike, even if it’s only on the weekends.  You don’t have to ride every day or even every weekend, but you’ve got to put some miles on your bike.  And if you’ve bought a motorcycle and love riding it, why wouldn’t you?

This Iron On Patch measures four inches wide by an inch and a quarter tall.  The words are embroidered in white in a very easy to read font.  The patch has black die cut borders all around it that make it very easy to sew it on to leather clothing.  If you’re not putting it on leather, you can iron it on using the heat-activated adhesive on the back.  This awesome patch can be added to just about any biker’s jacket or other riding gear.

This Small Afghan War Vet Patch Fits on your Sleeve

The War in Afghanistan has been a long conflict, beginning in October of 2001 and, as of November of 2012, still not considered over.  This war has involved the military of the U.S., the United Kingdom, France, and many other allied nations.  While the event that launched this war was the September 11 terrorist attacks on the U.S., the war became more about taking down the entire al-Qaeda organization and removing the Taliban from power in Afghanistan.  Although both of these goals have mostly been accomplished, a peacekeeping force is still required while the country transitions to a new government.  Since the war has not been declared completed, it has become the longest running war in U.S. history.

This means there are many soldiers who have been deployed to Afghanistan, and all of them can consider themselves veterans of the Afghan war.  If you have done a tour of duty in this conflict, you are qualified to wear an Afghan War Vet Small Ribbon Rocker patch on your jacket or vest.  The patch is designed like a standard arched rocker patch, but it has small sections on either side that make it look like a ribbon that’s been folded in on either end.  Each of these small folded sections has a number of colored stripes on it.  These stripes are done in the same colors as the military ribbon given out to those who served in the Afghan War.

Overall, this patch measures four inches by 1.5 inches and is made from rayon embroidery thread on a twill patch.  This patch can be ironed on to almost any canvas or cloth except for leather.  If you want to put it on leather, you’ll need to sew it on.

Biker Jewelry Isn’t Just for Women

When people usually think of jewelry, they imagine a woman’s necklace and earrings, or they think of a fancy bracelet set with diamonds.  Some think of charm bracelets and rings featuring gemstones.  However, the jewelry isn’t limited to women, especially not biker jewelry.  A lot of biker jewelry is made from chains, gears, and other items that look like they were part of a motorcycle before being turned into jewelry.

Many men wear bracelets, but not the thin, fragile looking bracelets that women wear.  Men’s bracelets are usually fairly thick and large.  Many biker bracelets are made out of bike chain.  Some, in fact, actually take a short piece of chain and make it into a bracelet.  Others wear bracelets made out of chain rings that look like medieval armor.  For those who don’t like metal, there are some cool leather bracelets that look great for men and women.

Many biker necklaces feature small motorcycle pendants or skulls.  These can also be worn by men, although some guys don’t like large pendant necklaces.  Many men like wearing chain necklaces or leather cords around their necks.  These chains can be large and bulky or somewhat on the small side.  It all depends on what you like.

What about other biker jewelry?  There are small stud earrings for men that feature skulls or other designs.  Some men like to wear hoop earrings, and those are also available in different sizes.  While men don’t often wear rings with large gemstones on them, they do wear rings.  There are a number of different biker-related ones on the market, including some rings with different biker logos and symbols.

This Steel Tribal Skull Biker Pendant is Great for a Gift

There are many neat little skull pendants and necklaces out there, but some of them are rather plain and boring.  They’re just skulls, and no matter how they’re dressed up or posed, they’re not really that interesting.  However, this Steel Tribal Skull Biker Pendant adds something really unique and different to the skull.  The tribal background adds a lot to this product, and it makes it something you can give to the biker in your life who seems to have everything else.

The fun tribal lines, arches, and curves in the background of this skull give it a very different look.  The skull itself looks fairly ominous and scary, and the curving arches around it actually make the skull look more fearsome.  They look kind of like tusks on either side of it, giving it a demonic appearance.  There are also two dark colored sections that come out of either side of the skull and look somewhat like bat wings.  However, while you can make some parts of the tribal design into more demonic aspects of the skull, some people will simply see a regular skull with an interesting background.

The pendant is made out of stainless steel that will withstand the weather, the hot sun, and any kind of crash you might have.  You don’t have to worry about it rusting or getting damaged in any way.  This tribal skull pendant makes a great addition to any biker’s riding gear, and it’s also a nice gift for anyone who loves skulls.

Look at this Cute Stainless Steel Teddy Bear Pendant!

If you’re not into skulls or other macabre biker jewelry (and many women aren’t), you may be interested in this cute, cuddly Stainless Steel Teddy Bear Mechanic Pendant with Chain.  This awesome little bear necklace looks like it’s made out of gears and bolts, plus it has a small wrench handing off the chain on one side.  It’s not only a cool gift for bikers, but it would also make a nice present for anyone who is into steampunk, which is based on a merging of the Victorian era and steam-powered engines.  Many steampunk fans dress in costumes that include gears and other moving parts, and this little bear would fit right in.

It’s also a nice gift for mechanics and those who love working on their bikes.  While yes, it may be more popular with women than with men, there are some male bikers who would enjoy this pendant, too.  The cool gear head and heart look like they could almost spin around, and that’s going to get many people’s attention.  This little guy is made out of stainless steel, so it won’t rust or get damaged by the rain or other type of weather.  It only weighs two ounces, so it’s very lightweight.

If you need a cool gift for your biker friends, anyone who likes bears, or for someone who loves steampunk items, this fun teddy bear mechanic pendant may be exactly what you need.  It’s also a great gift for someone who seems to have everything or who loves little quirky items.  Check it out if you need a good holiday gift or what to own this neat little bear yourself.

Putting Together a Great Biker Outfit

Every biker needs one: a great biker outfit.  It’s almost as important as the bike you’re riding on.  It’s more than just a fashion statement, though.  Good biker outfits can actually save your life.  There’s a reason why a lot of bikers wear leather, and it’s not just because it looks sexy (although it definitely can).  Leather is strong and durable, and a good leather jacket will protect your arms and body if you go flying off your motorcycle.  Sturdy pants, gloves, and a good helmet not only can complete your outfit, but they also have protective purposes as well.

However, even though these base items are picked out for their durability, there’s nothing to stop you from making them look amazing and adding other items to them to create your overall biker look.  You can add all sorts of patches to your biker jacket to make it reflect your personality.  These patches can be everything from fun sayings and humorous thoughts to skulls to wild animals.  It all depends on what patches catch your eye and work for you.

Then there are biker t-shirts.  You can wear these under your jacket since they won’t, by themselves, protect you from road rash if you have an accident.  There are thousands of different t-shirt designs.  Some feature biker logos, while others may include sayings or have pictures of bikes on them.

Jewelry is another good accessory that can help complete your biker outfit.  There are many different pieces of biker jewelry out there.  You’ll find necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and rings designed with bikers in mind.

Finally, some bikers want to put biker covers over their helmets because they think the bare metal is ugly.  These half-shell helmet covers come in a variety of colors and designs, and you can also put patches on them.

A Patch for Directors

Many biker clubs elect officers or appoint members to handle different projects and events.  The office of director may be given to the person in charge of the entire club, or it can be used to signify the director of a program, project, or event.  The director is often the one person who is overall in charge of the event and responsible for making sure it comes together as it should.  Often, clubs will give out different patches to these officers and directors so that everyone, especially non-members at the event, will know who is in charge.  This Director Patch in White is one such patch and is perfect for those who are in charge of an event.

The director doesn’t have to do the entire project or event himself, of course.  Usually, as the term implies, he has people to direct.  However, the director has to know how to manage these people and their overall time.  A poor director will find himself drowning as tasks aren’t completed as necessary and problems continually crop up.  A good director, on the other hand, truly oversees everything and is free to deal with areas that need a little more attention.

Directors often need to know more than just how to manage people.  They may be required to handle a project budget, speak to the press, solicit funding, and make regular reports.  In exchange for all of that, you get to wear a director patch!  OK, it might not seem like a huge reward, but you also get the satisfaction of knowing that you coordinated a major project to completion.  That feeling can be worth a lot, especially if it’s a truly large project that people didn’t think you could pull off.
